Did your baby have adverse reaction to vaccinations?
My perfectly healthy 3 month old daughter had a doctor's appointment last week where she was given the DTAP, Hep B, MMR and Polio vaccinations. I took her back to the doctor on Monday of this week because she'd been having diarrhea, a little blood in the stool, and behavioral changes. Since that appointment it has become almost impossible to leave her alone and she doesn't play with her floor gym anymore. In fact, the moment I leave her there by herself (me in the same room) she gets upset and I can see by her expression that she's terrified of it. I sat with her today and watched her and every moment that she realized there was a toy dangling above her she startled and flailed her arms and started to cry. She could be looking right at it and then realized it was there or something and got upset. This worries me A LOT. Before the doctor's appointment last week she would lay there by herself and reach out for the toys and grab onto them. We thought she was making wonderful progress. Also now she is harder to calm when upset and gets upset more easily.
What I want to know is if any of you have experiences like this and if your child got better.
By the way the doctor didn't even think twice about her problems being vaccine related. He gave me pedialyte and said since she is still gaining weight and didn't have any abdominal pain that she should be fine.
Sorry, I was mistaken about MMR, she actually received her HIB vaccine, not MMR. She also received Rototech (sp) and one to prevent ear infections along with DTAP, polio, and Hep B.

Oh my gosh I am so sorry. You absolutely need to trust your instincts on this one.
If I were you, I would get as much information as you possibly can right now. visit 909shot.com and read about side affects of shots your child got. I have done extensive research on vaccines and the diseases they "prevent" and the symptoms your child is experiencing sound much like an adverse reaction.
Your Dr. doesn’t mean any harm, but he/she is being somewhat closed minded to dismiss the possibility of it being vaccine caused.
here are some links. also try VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Reporting System

…just some to begin with. You will find a lot on the specific shots your child just received. Also, your Dr is supposed to report adverse reactions to vaccines (which this is…whether permanent or not) and if he doesn’t you can on the VAERS website. good luck…

my oldest had a VERY severe reaction to her first needle.
she was diagnosed with asperger’s when she was 20 yrs old.
connected? maybe.
vaccine-caused? i don’t think that so much as the vaccine triggered a latency she was born with. maybe if she’d not got the shot, it wouldn’t have developed.
hi
i am a dr
its true that the symptoms are not vaccine related
that is to say that they are not infections out of vaccines
except diarrhea
thats due to polio and is expected and normal
the thing is that other than opv all the things you mentioned are injectibles
so its basically the fear thats lingering
and thats normal too
give her some time
let her adjust to it and realize that that schedule is over
at least till next schedule
and she will be fine
whats more
go through "baby development milestones"
you will find that at a certain age, children want their folks specially their mom to be around
and get aggressive/attention seeking for a limited time and then grow out of it
just hang in there
if it doesnt cure in say a month
go to a child psychologist
what i wonder is how ur doc gave mmr at 3 months
in india at least its scheduled at 9 months
better go through an immunization card/schedule
it varies with countries
so i cant give it to u
No I have not had this problem as my husband and I chose not to vaccinate our children. We have a 2 1/2 year old and a 9 week old. I suggest you get a second opinion about what is going on. Always listen to your mothering instincts!
Have you looked into what is in the vaccines or did you get it done because that was what you were told? All I’m saying is be informed and educated.
If you choose to vaccinate you should look into Dr. Sears for an alternative vaccine schedule. Your daughter should have never had that many vaccines at once.
Of course, I can’t be sure, but I doubt this is related to the vaccines… Babies change so much at this age; they can make lots of progress, then slow down, regress, then more progress… Completely normal… Keep a watch on her, but I think she’ll be fine.
I just took my last child—almost 3 months—for her vaccinations, and, believe me, I always worry that reactions could happen, cause you just never know if your child will be one of the rare cases, but I had faith, and it seems to have worked out.
Good luck!!
3 months is WAY too young to give the MMR!!! That vaccine is normally given 12-18 months of age.
My baby had a very rare reaction to the BCG (Tuberculosis) vaccine. They don’t give the bcg vaccine in the US, but we live in Saudi Arabia, and they do give it here. She was given the vaccine when she was 2 days old. She got the normal reaction on her arm at the vaccination site. Then, when she was a few days before 3 months old, I noticed a lump on her shoulder. It turned out to be her supraclavicular lymph node. We are still in the process of getting her lymph node treated. They drained the fluid once and sent it for testing, but it didn’t have the tuberculosis bacteria, which was good. A few days ago they cut open the lymph node to drain the fluid. It’s awful to see your baby going through so much pain.
When we gave her the other vaccines, sometimes she gets a low fever (around 99-99.5 degrees). and usually that day she sleeps more and seems to be more needy.
We never let them give our daughter more than one vaccine at a time. If she has a bad reaction, I want to know exactly which vaccine caused it, and keep in mind that some bad vaccine reactions come after 1 week.
MMR is given after 12 month, never heard of it being given before that.
Yes, my son at his 2 month, just got very very irritated and cried non-stop. They think he had an allergic reaction to the DTP, so what my pediatrician did is REALLY spread them out.
They have been really spread out since that time and now he is 9 months and all the times we’ve gone, he’s had not reaction, no fever, no crankiness.
I really highly suggest to parents who "want" to vaccinate that they request spreading them out. It’s so much easier on the child, and doesn’t make them feel as bad.
